Adding Datasets Directly

You may have a favorite set of datasets that you need to request often.  You can bypass the search forms and go directly to Retrieval by using the View pull-down menu.

The Retrieval screen will come into focus.  Choose the Add Dataset(s) button from the button bar at the bottom.

You then need to choose if you'd like to import a list from a file or type the datasets in by hand.

Adding datasets by hand is an easy way to enter one or more (in a comma seperated list) datasets.

If you enter an invalid datasetame, StarView will prompt you and ask if this is really what you meant.

You can import a column of dataset names from a file directly into Retrieval.  This is handy if you have a group of many datasets
that you use often.

Browse for your input file or enter the name directly.  The text area shows the contents of the chosen file.

Select Import.

Observe that the Retrieval table added each dataset from the import file.  You may now choose Submit to configure your request.
