Submitting a Request

When you have data  marked for retrieval you can see the data in a table on the Retrieval screen.

To the left of each dataset is a checkbox.  The checkbox gives us the marked status.  Checked means marked and unchecked means unmarked.  Once you get to the retrieval screen you may say "What was I thinking?  I don't want that dataset.".  You may uncheck a dataset and let it sit there unchecked or you can use the button at the bottom to Purge Unmarked if you don't want unchecked data cluttering up your table.

Don't confuse Purge Unmarked with Clear.  Clear will remove everythingfrom the table and you'll have to go back and remark everything.

When you are satisfied with your Retrieval table, choose Submit at the bottom of the screen.  You will see a Configure screen.

Enter your username and password and make the choice of whether you want your password to be
remembered or whether you'd like to enter it anew with each request.  Choose the media type for data delivery.  If you choose
tape, you will be prompted with an address check.  Here you have an opportunity to verify or change your shipping address.

Next, choose your data type(s).  Notice there is a small checkbox at the bottom which reads override.

If you click on any of the standard types (Calibrated, OTFC, etc) you have the option to append particular classes and/or extensions to your request.  If this is the case, do not check the override checkbox.  Overriding will uncheck your standard data type and only
request the class and/or extension you have typed in the boxes.  Special note:  If you supply an extension, you MUST supply a
class.  Supplying a class by itself is sufficient.

Choose Done when you have finished with the configure screen.  Various checks will be done on your archive username and password.  You will be alerted if there is a problem.  Otherwise, you will get a message saying your request was mailed to the archive.
